To help you decide whether or not Solution One Financial is right for you, we start off every client relationship with a complimentary “FIT” meeting. What happens in this meeting? You talk. You tell us where you are, what you need, what you fear, what you want. We listen. If you like, we will share some tools to give you a flavour for what it’s like to be a client and answer any questions about our firm. Once we’ve both agreed to move forward in a formal client/advisor relationship, you sign an Engagement Letter and we begin our official work together. The main purpose of this stage is to identify and clarify your true values and priorities. It involves an in-depth data gathering process of both qualitative and quantitative information which helps engage both your heart and mind. One of the goals in this stage is to understand where you are right now in several areas of life as well as the journey that brought you to this point in time. This insight will help us understand your unique perspective on many issues and how best to communicate with you. For you, this discovery process increases self-awareness, develops a sense of connection, and helps build enthusiasm for the financial life planning process.
*The Engage meeting typically takes 1-2 hours.
Now the real fun begins as we start to design the financial life plan. The objective of this stage is to assist you in creating a vision for the future that is compelling, fulfilling, and inspiring. This mental picture will include everything that is important to you and contributes to your happiness and life satisfaction. The next step is to mutually define personal and financial goals that align with and support that image. For us, the visualization and goal setting process will establish clear guidelines for creating a financial life plan that is aligned with the your values and priorities.
*The Envision meeting typically takes 2 hours.
In this stage, we will summarize and clarify your new insights and knowledge about your values, priorities, concerns, transitions, goals and objectives. The purpose of this stage is to verify understanding of what you have communicated and to demonstrate a commitment to putting your interests first. When presenting the financial life plan, we can then explain how the financial solutions we propose supports the life vision and goals you have created. This entire process can take anywhere from 1-6 months, depending upon the complexity of your financial architecture and your comfort level with change. We’ll move at the pace you feel comfortable with, educating you every step of the way so you feel engaged in the process.
*The Envision & Empower meetings typically take 1-2 hours.
Armed with new insight and knowledge, you are “empowered” to take action. Because of the direct link between 1) the financial life plan or advice delivered and 2) the your unique perspective of “quality of life,” you will be motivated and committed to implementing the our recommendations. We will continue to act as a guide in this stage, monitoring progress and helping to maintain focus on your personal and financial goals. Because unanticipated events occur and priorities shift over time, it is important for you and our team to regularly review your Financial Life Plan to make sure it remains relevant to your life journey. This is also a stage where an on-going Financial Life Planning process will continue to strengthen the advisor-client relationship and nurture your “True wealth.” So once a quarter we will reach out to see if anything in your financial life or personal goals have changed. Once a year we will also take a wide-angle snapshot of your entire financial house by reviewing together your financial life plan.
